The Commons Racquet Club at Predator Ridge presents our annual Canada Day Open Tennis Tournament.

EVENT DETAILS
DATE: July 1-3, 2023
FORMAT:
• Men’s & Women’s Doubles (Saturday/Sunday)
• Mixed Doubles (Monday)

Registration closes Friday, June 23 @ 6:00PM.

ENTRY FEE

$55 per person + GST = $57.75
Men’s and Women’s Doubles will receive lunch on Saturday.
Mixed Doubles will receive lunch on Monday.
Each person must register individually.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Participants may enter 1 men’s or women’s doubles event and 1 mixed doubles event.
Minimum of two matches are guaranteed.
8 teams per draw.
Players and spectators are expected to abide by club rules.
Matches start at 8:00am daily and may continue into the evening.
Local players may be scheduled to play on the evening of Friday, June 30.
The tournament committee may cancel an event if there are insufficient entries, alter the format in the event of rain etc., and retains the right to reject entries.
Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners-up in all events.
Matches may also be scheduled for the Village court.
The Kalamalka Country Club will resume hosting a Canada Day weekend tourney when their courts have been restored to their former glory.
Draws will be emailed to each player by Wednesday, June 28.

Women’s Doubles	A (4.5 and higher)	B (3.5-4.0)
Men’s Doubles	A (4.5 and higher)	B (3.5-4.0)
Mixed Doubles	A (4.5 and higher)	B (3.5-4.0)

PLAY FORMAT

All matches will use one Ad scoring, i.e. “Sudden Death” point at the second deuce with the receiver(s) choosing whether to receive the serve in the deuce court or the ad court, except mixed doubles where the server must serve to the opponent of the same gender.
Men’s and Women’s Doubles matches will consist of 2 regular sets with a 7 point tie-breaker at 6:6 . The third set will be a match Tie Breaker to 10 points.
Men’s and Women’s Doubles playoff matches will be 2 sets with a tie-breaker at 6:6 (first to 7 points by 2) . If you split sets, i.e. 1 set each, then the winner will be decided by a Match or Super tie-breaker (first to 10 points by 2).
All Mixed Doubles matches will consist of 2 regular sets , tie braker to 7 points at 6:6. Third set a 10 point tie-breaker.
7 minute warm-up. There will be a 15 minute default limit on all matches unless there are extenuating circumstances.
The tournament referee is Joachim Nierfeld or in his absence, Meryl Ogden and Sib.
All referee’s decisions are final.
